Glen Sim – Founder & Director of Awesim Building Consultants
Glen Sim is the Founder and Director of Awesim Building Consultants, bringing more than 35 years of hands-on experience within the building and construction industry across New South Wales and Victoria.
Beginning his career as an apprentice carpenter in 1990, Glen completed his Carpentry Apprenticeship through TAFE NSW at the end of 1993, building the strong practical foundations that would shape his lifelong career in the construction industry. From an early age, Glen developed a passion for building, craftsmanship, problem solving, and understanding how quality construction should be properly designed and delivered.
Throughout his early years in the industry, Glen gained extensive hands-on experience working across residential and commercial construction projects, learning every stage of the building process from the ground up. His practical trade background provided him with invaluable real-world knowledge of construction methodology, structural systems, waterproofing, defect identification, project coordination, building compliance, and construction quality standards.
Over the following decades, Glen expanded his expertise across multiple sectors of the construction industry, developing a strong reputation for professionalism, attention to detail, and practical building knowledge. His broad industry experience has enabled him to work on a diverse range of projects involving residential homes, renovations, remedial works, commercial construction, defect investigations, and construction dispute matters.
In 2004, Glen became a Licensed Builder in Victoria, further strengthening his professional qualifications and construction management experience. After many successful years working within the Victorian building industry, Glen relocated back to New South Wales in 2011, continuing to build upon his extensive experience within the construction and building consultancy sectors.
